Taking the bus did not turn out as I expected it to be. I wanted to go by bus to Gangneung and then transfer at Andong for a stop. Well the bus ride went out well.
But foreseeing to have to wait 2.5 hrs and arriving at 5pm the Andong Hahoe Village did not make any sense. At least I got there somehow, some taxi drivers didn’t understand any English and sometimes even less in smaller villages. I called the Han Jin Hostel guy and eureka, he had some free bed. Gangneung was also on the way to Gyeongju.
So, no Hotel California tonight and an early evening in Geongju! My learning: be flexible. Otherwise, the Moon Handbook was right about planning much time in Gangwon-do for getting around. From my feeling, I barely saw the Seoraksan National Park yesterday and missed Andong today. It can only become better. But being on the run to bigger cities, connections can’t even more worse anyways. I hope that Busan and Jeju-do are not too stressful from now on!
