It was too hot in the afternoon to run around yesterday. So I wanted to get somewhere inside and experience some culture. The Museumsinsel (museum island) is famous for its many art collections. I heard the Pergamon Museum is very fine, so I gave it a try.
Price: 6 Euros for students, otherwise 12. It’s worth the money for what you can see! If you enter, you can also get an audio guide for free (6 languages). Take it! I hate running around with papers and not being able to take photos and reading the whole time. 
The entrance hall looked like some amphitheater in ancient Greece. Many parts were brought in pieces to the museum which underwent some restoration and repiecing them into a whole thing. 
Very well reconstructed sculptures have been exhibited for the audience. Unbelievable they are older than several thousand years! I heard Greek government wants them back. As with all cultural heritages taken abroad, I don’t think that would happen very soon… 
Having the urge to hold a speech or just looking down at people? Go up here! Unfortunately you couldn’t go up the second story. But you could step up the balcony. Sculptures and wall reliefs tell you stories of ancient Greek mythology and their heroes. The tower of Babel of something resembling was built here. 
Gates and whole facades have been rebuilt.
For example, the famous Ishtar Gate is really remarkable to watch - the details are impressive.
When I left the Museum, I wandered around the museum island. People were chilling behind the museum island. It’s a popular place in the city giving you shade and a meadow where people lay down. From here, you can take a walk back to the Berlin cathedral.
