Prague Castle

Text
In June 2012 as my first trip after starting work, I decided to go on vacation with B to celebrate our reunion and birthdays.

Prague

Though this has been a while, here are some impressions of Prague. The main capital of the Czech Republic (formerly know as Czechoslovakia until the late 80s) is nowadays a famous tourist destination especially known for a lot of culture. The city itself is located at the Vltava river (German: Moldau) and is separated by this into a west and a east part. We stayed there for 4 days. We took a taxi into town which we ordered before. The driver was totally helpful and very friendly. As we arrived a little bit late, our driver patiently waited and took us to our hotel (Park Inn, very recommended).

This is a view from the TV tower. In the background you can see the Prague Castle which has been existing since the 9th century. It’s a big compound with several buildings where you can easily stay for several hours if you intend to walk through the museums.

It is very easy spot to reach and to begin with.

Parade

At a certain time, outside of the castle parades are held which you will find. It is even possible for people to sit in royal carts and get driven around.

Castle entrance

If you move up the hill, you eventually get to the entrance of the castle compund. It can’t be missed with all the tourists in front of it and sign.

Artists

You might also notice the orchestrians at the compound playing some notable titles as well as school classes which sometimes sing together with the musicians. If you like that, feel free to support them.
