In Korean, it’s 쌈지길 인사동.
Although I have been here several times before and on every visit to Seoul, its a good place to always have a look at contemporary art items, accessories and decoration you can buy and take home.

Samziegil has many markets and art shops you can have a look. It’s a good place for a younger audience to get some artsy items which are affordable and do not look like typical souvenirs (even though you would be able to find some in the area as well).

For example, there are tea stores that sell domestic tea and this is always a good thing to bring as present to someone.
You’ll find more contemporary things here than in the main street and it is the atmosphere which draws visitors to this open complex.

It’s a building with several levels so you go up the stairs and by moving counterclockwise, you eventually reach the top.

Down there, some students from my visiting group.

Lots of little stores to have a look and buy souvenirs also such as Maps, Stamps with your name in Hangeul, bags, tea sets of course all made in Korea.

In summer, the roof café is a nice place to sit outside.

For the new year, some deco banners were put on to wish you a happy new year.
When we walked around in Insadong we also discovered a New complex right across the walking street: Insadong Maru 인사동마루 which must have been built after my last visit. It features a Kimchi Museum, more expensive art stores and also some restaurants but seems to be not fully rented.
