The Pantokrator is the highest mountain on Corfu island. Until the last day, I felt intimidated to go up and have alook on the mountain but as I had enough time to stoll around and believed having a look at other place would not be worth it anymore, I just went up to the top - by car.
The roads are steep and tight - this mountain is about 900m high and the photos will show you what to expect. But driving up for the view was worth it and I could not imagine how larger vehicles would go up (buses should go up). The smart people just hike up, which would take several hours and some solid footwear.

On my way to the top.

You would cross several small villages until you reach the top, when you are on the upper half there will not be much except the magnificient view over Corfu

I actually started off my day with a greek coffee in a bar near the Liston. The staff was super friendly and the coffee and sandwich delicious. I should have come there for a drink…

It was quite a drive up about 30 mins and I decided to walk up the last 200metres as I did not dare to go up with car, see why:

Except rocks and unpaved ways, nothing…
Up there you would find a small cloister and next to it a cafe.

I personally find the radio station the military has built up there quite ugly, but this was back in the days and never reconsidered.

From the seashore, you can have magnificient views over the mountain

A small walk throught the city centre for some filmmaking…
..and off to the airport. It was actually under construction, but when it becomes finished I expect it to be more convenient.

Overall the trip was enjoyable, only the weather was not fully perfect at that time. Maybe next visit?
Goodbye Corfu!
